The Book Thief- a summary
In the years of Nazi takeover in Germany, a girl named Liesel is caught in the hardships of a German girl growing up during the holocaust. With the
grim memory of her past haunting her, she moves in with cigarette-smoking sailor-mouthed foster parents. Finding a love of books, whether
through thievery or getting them as a gift, Liesel becomes the Book Thief. Dangers worsen though, and being caught for stealing books is no longer
the biggest threat; her family is harboring a Jew. Through the unique narration of Death, the Book Thief offers a unique perspective on an otherwise boring subject.
